Dante, This lawyer has a pacemaker and wanted the source code for the device. She has an interesting story about medical devices/software... I suggest that you check this out...

Freedom in my Heart
Note: WE ARE MEETING AT CIVIC HALL!! We'll need names, and you will need IDs.
When Karen discovered she had a life threatening heart condition, the last thing she expected was to have to worry about software. Now, with a heart device implanted in her body, she has come to understand not only how vulnerable medical devices are but how as a society we are making critical choices about all of our software. Karen will talk about the hacks which show how essential free and open source software is and will discuss her professional and personal view of the issues as a patient and as a cyborg lawyer.
Afterwards: ----------------- Join us afterwards at The Storehouse Pub where we'll continue the discussion over drinks and/or food. The Storehouse Pub is located at 69 West 23rd St, between 5th at 6th Avenues.
Speaker Bio: ------------------- Karen M. Sandler is Executive Director of the Software Freedom Conservancy, the nonprofit home of dozens of essential free software projects. She is known for her advocacy for free and open source software, particularly as a cyborg lawyer in relation to the software on medical devices. She co-organizes Outreachy (formerly Outreach Program for Women) and is a lawyer, providing pro bono legal counsel to the FSF, GNOME and QuestionCopyright.Org.
