The System Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
1) Currently / recently working as a system administrator in a predominantly Linux/Unix server-side environment (preferably RedHat, RHEL). 2) Experience with hardware configuration of server class machines (BIOS config, RAID configurations, console set-up). 3) Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, etc, the Linux/Unix OS (RedHat preferred). 4) Familiarity with Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration, switch zoning, storage configuration. 5) Knowledge of Server and Desktop virtualization, and thin clients.
