Hell no, we won't glow!
(getting '60s flashbacks)
Adjuvant external-beam radiotherapy (_not_ the same as what Elfen is having, which probably involves a tiny radioactive pellet being placed in the middle of the thyroid) is a little unnerving in a couple of ways. First, you have it in a room that is separated from the medical centre staff by a thick leaded window and an impossibly thick steel door -- which is enough to make you think: Hulk? Spider-man? What am I getting into, here?
Second, the linear accelerator is disquietingly... quiet. Something inside whirs a bit, something very quietly buzzes, but somehow you expect something more industrial.
Third, there are the laser-light projected lines they use to make sure they're aiming at the right spots, which make you imagine you're about to be ginsu-knived into little pieces for someone's grill.
It's all very odd and science-fictional.
