I'm very sad that noone showed up this time around. For a group that was so dynamic and energenic, it seems we've completely lost any initiative, nor can we seem to get together. This is very hard for me. I'm used to having a large number of people within my inner circle, but at this point, I'm very lonely. The kids are all gone. My career in Pharmacy is crushing me and leaving me alone and underfunded. The computing people seem to have pushed themselves into hibernation. I truth, I had hoped to be out of the country by now and living in Israel. Instead, I'm stuck here much longer than I anticipated, and with the robbery in my house, my assets are shrinking down to zero.
When I first moved to this apartment, I made sure that the place could handle NYLXS engagements. NYLXS tech meetings had provided a great background for joy and intellectual expansion, and we had a wonderful tradition. But nothing I do seems to work out right at this point, and I'm spinning into depression. Nobody even picks up the phone.
I wish I knew what to do.
Ruben
