This week I have h=
ad the pleasure of repairing a bunch a appliances which convert film into d=
igital beta (basic HD quality) at work. The reason why this was a nostalgic=
pleasure is the controllers for the system run Red Hat box set 7.4 circa 2=
002. Bot of the systems had dieing hard drives but I was able to dig up the=
install ISO's off of =3D"url">ftp.sscientificlinux.org .
Ho yes this is one of the p=
re fedora 2.4 kernel version of Red Hat linux. I almost said out loud hello=
old friend lol. But seriously this thing was built at a time when most peo=
ple out side of web and Pixar thought Linux was a toy and its nice to see o=
ne off these systems from then still considered to be business critical it =
means we did a great job as a comunity.
