Last night, after considerable diliberation I decided to reserve a room at the Four Points by Sheraton Milwaukee North Shore, in Miilwaukee. I made this decision based on 3 specific factors which I went over when I made the reserveration. They were
A) Free Shuttle Service from Mitchell Airforce base to the Hotel B) Proximity to my daughter's graduation at Cardinal Stritch University C) General full service and free internet connectivity at the room.
I booked the flight to arrive from NYC at 1:00PM giving plenty of time to get flowers and contact with the family. I don't carry a cellphone. I specifically discussed these details at about 2AM this morning when I booked the hotel room, with someone with an Austalian accent. They assured me of the airport shuttle servic. I got an email confirmation for the reversation which I printed and took with me on the plane.
When I got to Milwaukee, there was no shuttle, no phone to the hotel and I was stranded from abou 1PM until 2:30, causing me to incendently, miss the oppurtunity to even get a bite to eat before events (and therefor I'm stuffing myself with pretzels from a supermarket). There is no Connoisseur service here (really? At a Sheridan??), making the well planned activities just so much more stressful than it needed to be.
This is about to 6th booking for Sheridan over the last 3 years because of Pharmacy credits. The last time was in San Diego and Symphon Hall a few weeks ago. There was a huge problem with internet service, and really, the kids running the front desk didn't know the most basic things about the hotel or the city. The windows in the hotel were filthy and there wasn't a working fridge and just a run down feeling about the whole thing, which I ended up complaining about. I'm sick of paying premium prices for hotel rooms and not get even internet access. You end up so stranded.
This is enough. Finally, your confimation letter didn't even have the PHYSICAL ADDRESS for the 4 points hotel. When I finally got into the cab, he is asking me the address... and I'm a total idiot because while I knew the general location, I didn't have the address like I thought it had it in the confirmation.
And then finally, the telephone number in the letter for contacting you if there was problems, and this was a problem, was to a central switchboard that COULDN'T CARE LESS about the problem, nor could do anything about it even if they wanted to because they weren't at the hotel.
Meanwhile, I have a 60+ dollar taxi reciepe that I expect you to cover. While the staff, especially Judy, has made a great effort to make up for things, she is nearly offering limosine server with the shuttle at this point around town, but really. I'm not Mike Bloomberg. I don't really need that. I just needed a damn cup of coffee, a promised pick up at the airport, and a call to the florist to deliver flowers to my daughter, and to slip in and out of Milwaukee without a hassle or harrasment.
Is that too much to ask?
