Rubin huh? who cares if the content is "plain text" as long as it renders that way on the console. lynx is a console web browser no X11 required, and it works well over ssh so I don't get your point. lynx is not a new piece software its been around for a long time as a matter of fact the changelog for version 2.3 goes back to 1992, so none of this is new or even a radical concept.
