To be honest, I think ufraw is fundementally broken, It has no sane default configuration and once you fiddle with settings, you can NEVER get a sane setup ever again from it.
And who the hell knows what those crappy options are for. I'm sick of applications without documentation, especially one that is so senstiviely to be turned out of whack and rendered useless.

ufraw does recognize my camera and even the lens.... it still doesn't know what the hell to make of that data.

This other application also seems to have an infinite number of undocumented and weird setting, but at least it has a sane default configuration.
What a waste. Even the GIMP has no damn documentation. I brought a book and It doesn't seem to have much help.
