That's exactly what finally convinced them to make that statement.
Well that and from what I've been told the realization that the
community might consist of hundreds or even thousands of users and
programmers who are far better equipped as a group to provide better
pier review and QA testing for changes to code than one or two
internal developers think they understand it and all the possible
consequences of the change.
