(trimmed and resent due to a plugin quirk causing it to have the wrong address earlier, also I'd like to add that NYLUG always supported the idea of people forming new groups. Additionally, the only issues I've had about using meetup.com were initially the expense (I didn't have the money to spare and nobody else was coughing it up), and then the idea of using it exclusively for RSVP, a subject that's always been very important to a small but very community-minded segment of the community for whom privacy is an important issue.)

If they hadn't stolen NYLUG from its members and the community, and had decided to form a new group, then there wouldn't be a problem as far as NYLUG's concerned, and perhaps (or not) they wouldn't feel the need to lie about me constantly giving me no reason to object to anything either. They don't seem to get that they're not just disparaging me personally, they're showing you their true contempt they hold for the people who actually did participate and volunteer.
