Description: Direct Client requires a Senior Technical Writer to develop Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Operational Level Agreements (OLA), and related material, such as service descriptions and underpinning contracts (UCs), in consultation with technical subject matter experts, customer service officers, and clients.
Specific Responsibilities
a. Creates and maintains Service Level Agreements (SLA) for a variety of services, as needed.
b. Creates and maintains Operational Level Agreements (OLA) for information and communications technology services in conjunction with service delivery sections, service desk, customer service officers and others.
c. Composes complex technical documents including service descriptions and other service management-related materials.
d. Creates other technical documentation within the scope of SLM mandate and day-to-day operations.
e. Works closely with service delivery professionals, data centre personnel, and other technical s taff to determine SLA/OLA content.
f. Manages the SLA/OLA creation process.
g. Performs developmental editing and copyediting tasks as needed.
h. Participates in content creation for the SLM Service Catalogue portfolio database.
i. Performs general administrative duties as required, including maintaining documents in CMS/DMS, writing status reports, etc.
Qualifications
a. A degree in Computer Science, IT, Communications, English, a related field, or equivalent experience.
b. Five years technical writing experience in an IT environment, preferably writing SLA/OLA-related material, technical instruction manuals, standard operating procedures, or other procedural documentation.
c. Basic knowledge of (X)HTML, CSS, and web content management.
d. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
e. Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with all levels of management, and as part of team.
f. General familiarity with technical specifications and industry standards used in the information and communication technology field.
g. In-depth knowledge of standard business software, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet.
h. Candidate must be detail oriented, have proven technical writing abilities, and strong verbal communication skills.
Other Desirable Qualifications
a. Familiarity with technical specifications of various networking, communications, and computer hardware equipment.
b. Experience with or knowledge of PRINCE2 or other formal project management methodologies.
c. Experience with or knowledge of ITIL V3.0 (or COBIT).
d. Experience with or knowledge of IT Service Management and/or Service Level Management.
e. Experience with or knowledge of SDLC or other formal software development methodologies.
f. Experience developing documentation in an international setting.
g. Knowledge of web design, information architecture, or web application development.
h. Ability to understand and document software and system architectures a plus.
i. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript a plus.
