SUBJECT | Subject: [NYLXS - HANGOUT] Status report from tonight board meeting
|
While understandable because of the weather and relatively short notice we didn't have the turnout I would of hoped for there were several things discussed which were important to the organization moving forward.
In attendance was * Micheal Richardson * Rubin Safir * Paul Robert Marino
1) Future events at Suspenders We can hold events at Suspenders and seat up to 30 people in a private room with internet access and an LCD projector. The preferred nights are Mondays and Tuesdays. we can hold in-services, tech nights, comity meetings, and possibly even classes in the space.
2) In-services In the coming weeks we will be trying to get a list of possible in-services we can get content experts to present. Once we have compiled the list we will be setting up polls to determine audience interest in the subjects.
I personally have committed to conduct in-services conditionally on the results of the poll the following * Structuring Nagios configurations more easily manageable and scalable for enterprise environments. * PostgreSQL * File system and LVM and RAID tuning * Whats new in the NFS 4.1 standard and why will it become very important once its declared stable in the Linux kernel
As a general question to the group is there any one who would be willing to commit to doing an in-service
3) Classes There is the possibility of doing classes; however, we would need to figure out which classes we could possibly get reasonable number to sign up for. an other question would be what costs would be associated with it?
4) Taxes Micheal Richardson agreed to follow up on the following questions What is our current status? Were the tax forms properly filed for 2009? What forms need to be filed for 2010?
Thank You Paul Robert Marino
