Yea ive seen a flood of automated emails sent via one postfix server kill a farm of 20 ms exchange servers with a accidental denial of service attack. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen because all of the windows SA's in charge of the MS Exchange farm swore it was impossible despite the warnings from the Linux SA's. Just goes to show you don't turn on emails from a monitoring system until you have tuned it properly, and certainly don't think that windows can keep up with Linux.
