They are so transparently always trying to grab your personal data, it amazes me that people run the stupid add ons and games. First of all, I keep thinking to myself, don't these people have other things to do with their lives. Secondly, people as just so stupid, that they don't care.
It just gets crazy.
There are things that I grudgingly have to admit is good about Facebook. Facebook has solved a problem that was artificially created by braindead operating systems in the first place. Instead of everyone having a private IP address and some network servies (ie: Apache with desktop build ins), they now have facebook to endlessly download pictures of their kids 8th birthday and their cat's misadventures with a cerial box.
And hell, they don't even have to learn VI. Instead they have to learn dozens of bizzarre Facebook specific commands and clicks.
Now, maybe there is a business oppurtinity in this. How about if we created a small OS that integrates your desktop and chatting into apache in a smooth OS, and then sell the static IP conntections and network services? All the boxes are then networked together into a single community front end that these boxes interface with. So why the content and Copyrighted materials remain on the seperate systems, the community functionilty can still work. And you can use X11 programming to make these interact programs drag and drop easy to use.
