Yes but Speakeasy was substantially less expensve than covad was. I
moved to covad because, frankly, they were a much more proffesional
outfit who speaks Unix and have been very helpful. But this recession
has beaten the crap out of me and add on top of that the events with
Ellen kidnapping the children and taking them upstate, and all me new
expenses, it's just too hard. I can't keep the lights on and pay of
Shoshana's education, and Aviva's camp and the divorce lawyer et et. I
just can't do it all. I've rech a pont in my life where I an no longer
be the superman everyone has come to expect of me all the time.
Additionally, Covad has been sold and they aren't even the same company
anymore and just the way the company communicates is not same any more.
They've started to charge a 4 dollar fee for late payments, not in
itself a big deal, but it does piss me off.
I which they could sell me an option with a 5mbt connection for less
than a 100 bucks a month but either because of politics or by their own
decision they just won't and I can't ignor 5 times the speed at half the
price at this point.
