Dear Ruben,
/Your/ senator – Senator Carl Kruger – is one of the "fare hike six" – the senators that refused to support a plan that would prevent the doomsday massive service cuts and fare hikes. Can you help us get through to Senator Kruger before it's too late?
We will be handing out leaflets tomorrow morning, April 8th, at the Kings Highway station (B,Q) from 7:45am to 9am, urging transit riders to call Senator Kruger and ask him to support a plan to fully and fairly fund transit.

/Can't volunteer tomorrow morning? You can still help by taking a photo of your commute and sending it in:/
/"It doesn't matter who rides the subway. I don't care who rides the train or who doesn't ride the train."/ — Sen. Ruben Diaz Sr.
Albany doesn't seem to understand why it is vitally important to fund New York's mass transit system.
*So let's show them!*
*Simply hit "reply" and attach photos of your commute!*
Dear Ruben,
For months, we've been asking our leaders in Albany to find a stable source of funding for the MTA /without/ outrageous fare hikes and service cuts.
Sadly, *our thousands of letters, phone calls, and emails haven't been enough* to make legislators understand the hardships New Yorkers will face if doomsday strikes.
*That's why we've created the *_Commuter Photo Journal_* – so we can /show/ legislators what it's really like to get to work. *
Do you wait in lines around the block to catch the bus? Do you squeeze your way onto overcrowded trains every morning? Or maybe your subway station is literally crumbling around you? *Hit "reply" to this message and attach photos of your crowded buses and trains, change in service signs, or damaged stations!*
We've told Albany again and again that *the MTA's doomsday plan will mean significant hardship for the employees, families, and tourists who keep our city thriving.* We've told legislators that everyone who benefits from mass transit – business, drivers, and riders alike – should contribute to keeping us on the move.
/But Albany still doesn't get it./ *When asked by a Post reporter, only one of the "fare hike six" – the senators who refused to pass a full and fair funding plan – could even produce a MetroCard!*
On your way to work, *snap a photo of the crowds of frustrated commuters, of the overflowing buses, trains, and rails. Then simply hit "reply" and attach your photos – we'll post them to our Commuter Photo Journal.*
We've tried to reason with our legislators. We've asked them to support a plan like the one proposed by the Ravitch Commission and by Speaker Silver, a fair and viable plan that asks all sectors to do their part for the MTA.
It may feel like our messages have fallen on deaf ears, but we can't stop now. *Unless our leaders act immediately to avoid the doomsday scenario, it's only going to get worse out there.*
Reply now and send us your photos. Let's hope seeing is believing!
Sincerely,
Michael O'Loughlin Campaign for New York's Future
