SUBJECT | Re: [NYLXS - HANGOUT] [campaignforny@gmail.com: MTA doomsday

The MTA has never listen to us (not even when we had the power to remove them, they may have held hearings but that was just going though the motions.

Here in Boston we are facing a fare hike and reduce service as well (keep in mind that the subway shuts down at 12:45am and the commuter rail shuts down at 11:45). And yet, they want to reduce service here. At least MTA runs all night! But I think its unfair that the MTA wants to charge 104 for a monthly metrocard. $81/month is already steep for some people as it is. I am reading that they want to eliminate the W train. The train that goes to whitehall mind you. So if they eliminate that, then whats the perpuse of the middle track at whitehall now? Its already crowded at that station anyways. With only the R train running through there, your going to cause a lot of issues as the platform is small in my opinion. And didn't they just finish the south ferry new terminal that connects the R/W train with the 1 train???? So whats the point! They wasted lots of money to now not have it connected? This is where I'm getting the current info, http://www.mta.info/mta/09/section1v2.pdf.
Does the MTA really listen to us or are they giving their execs big bonuses? Overall, I think the MTA is just plain old greedy and not really thinking clearly on how to fix the issues that faces commuters today. Thats just my thoughts.
