WASHINGTON DC USA -- PHARMA UPDATE NEWS SERVICE -- MARCH 11, 2009: Earlier this year, Eli Lilly entered into a $1.4 billion agreement with the government to settle allegations of off-label promotion in connection with its marketing of Zyprexa. Dozens of similar cases are currently under investigation at the Department of Justice (DOJ). On Tuesday, March 24, DOJ attorney Eugene Thirolf and Assistant US Attorney Joseph Trautwein will examine the lessons of the landmark settlement. Two of the qui tam attorneys central to the investigation -- Joel Androphy and Michael Mustokoff -- will offer their insights into the investigation, while veteran defense counsel Kathleen McDermott will provide a defense perspective.
