Ruben, I think Tameek means that we should do a search on the terms he
lists below the first paragraph.
Tameek - yes, these are all fine programs, but what I had in mind was
a lot different. Mind mapping programs are really cool and neat, but
they aren't outliners.
The typical outline program should resemble a structured outline done
with a pencil and paper only without the constant erasing and
rewriting. The end goal is similar to mind mapping software, but it's
structure is very different. Basically, mind mapping software is
great to associate ideas and thoughts, but an outline is more handy
when it comes to taking notes, or listing steps in a procedural order.
The example I gave was omnioutliner, which can be found at
http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnioutliner/
I think this is a beautiful program. And it would be neat to have
this available on Linux. I don't intend (or even want) to do
everything this does, but I'd like something similar.
In any case, I've started reading through books on C++ and QT, so it
will be a week or so before I'm ready to get started.
The more I look at QT, the more convinced I am that this is the way to go.
