Ah, well that's OK then. Thank you for clearing it all up.
I guess I'll be able to start in two weeks, I need to read up on C++, and QT. Those seem like the best bet. GTK is prettier, but I get the impression that QT is a more tightly put together package.
If anyone has a good book to recommend that covers QT and C++ at the same time, that would be perfect.
