When someone says this, they tend to come off sounding like a basher because of Apple's legendary ease of use, blah blah blah.
But I saw someone setting up a new Macbook recently, and while the library of HOWTO videos it comes with is indeed impressive, and something I've since been telling people I wish we had, the fact of the matter is the video I saw was on setting up Apache/PHP/MySQL on OS X, and any modern Linux does a far superior job of setting that up than Apple does. A video that talks you through the entire manual process including creating icons in the control panel thingy is still an impressive video, but for a highly inferior user experience than a Linux user expects. I've seen it done better under Windows, never mind Linux. This may well be some edge case I happened to witness, but the fact remains, Apple's reputation exceeds reality every time I've been in a position to observe one of these things in action.
