5000th Post Contest - Photo Exhibit
------------------------------------------------------------------------ OK - for Post 5000 lets make a little museum art. Competition for one smal 1.10th ounce raw coin AGE, not much but perhaps enough to generate some lasting fun and worthwhile exhibits:
Here are the rules:
Post in a single thread anywhere on cointalk an exhibit of photographs with annotation of any coin of your choice. The exhibit which best meets Aesthetic, Educational and Numismatics goals laid forth will win. Three judges will rule, myself and I'll need two more volunteers. Ribbons will be awarded for 1,2md and 3rd place prizes.
Subject Lines should say exactly:
Exhibit: Coin Type - Coin Date - Photographed Date - Artist
for example
Exhibit: Standing Liberty Quarter Type I- 1917 - Photographed March 2008 - Ruben Safir
you can use your handle if you want.
Judge points: ____________
10 Points: Numismatics: It has to be a coin and the subject of the exhibit must be coin related. The right up should discuss details of the coin as they pertain to your photos and how your photoed your coins to display their character.
10 Points: Art: Your photographs should be beautiful and unique. The aesthetic quality of the photographs is the purpose of the contest. The exhibit of photo's, arrangement, theme and photographic technique will all me considered
10 Points Educational: Your exhibit must have genuine educational merit. Historical, artistic, and numismatic education all count equally .
Extra information: An extra 10 points will be given for using only Free Software to manipulate your images and design your exhibit. The Gimp, Inkscape and Openoffice are examples of good software to work with, and work on a vareity of platforms. YOu should discuss this in your wirte up or in a message in your thread.

Questions relating to your entry in order to help judge it will be put in your thread and responding can be nice
Things not considered: The rarity and the value of the subject coin...I don't care although beautiful coin designs make interesting subjects !
