Since the war in Iraq there hasn''t been a PEEP of a threat against the city and those that have been uncovered have been incredibly amateurish in there nature...and I've been watching very closely since 9-11. Prior to that there was an escalation of but threats and attempts, many of them including the attempted gas attack on the LIRR terminal, the bomb van uncovered prior to entering the Manhattan Bridge, and the shooting of Ari Halperin on the Brooklyn Bridge, showed serious escalation in threats to the Borough and the city.
The deportations of several Islamic clerics in Bay Ridge and downtown Brooklyn put a serious dent in things as well.
This election, which was driven by racism with a 97%+ Black American vote, gives me the same sick feeling I had with the Dinkins election. These are both smooth speaking black politicians pushed by corrupt machine politicians into positions they are philosophically in capable of handling the problems that they will need to tackle, and have no experience in governing.
