I put Debian on mine and I have a data/phone card. I got the extra large battery and 1gig ram.

actualy I've been very happy with the 7 xandros install on my eeepc however I think that has more to do with gentoo burn out than any thing else. It all comes down to expectation. For me I just want a simple machine to do my perl hacking, update my resume, ocasionaly browse the web, and be able to hook up to my cell phone in and vpn and ssh into the systems at work if there is an emergecy at work while durring off hours. everything else I do on my quadcore amd desktop at home or a server at work.
I don't expect my eeepc to be a postgresql development or to do all of the things I would expect a full size laptop to do. So I'm happy with the abundance of functions it has. Also I spent the extra $100 for the 4GB flash and bigger battery so I don't have some of the same complaint as Rubin about storage space and battery life. ----------------------- Sent from my Treo(r) smartphone

Ah, perhaps you've come to your senses.
I did the same with the Cloudbook. Actually, that decision was made for me after gOS trashed its linux-image during an update. I went with Ubuntu.
I still have issues with the webcam, but that is nonessential. Oh, and my lap gets toasty warm if I make the mistake of keeping it there. Might be a very crude form of birth control.

Are there known drivvers for the wirefi, and sound? Ruben
