This is an ad on craigslist for a position with these guys as a web
developer. Just tell them you heard they are really good and you want
to learn from people that care about their work. You couldn't find
anything for them on their website, so you looked for them on
craigslist. If you're worried about being honest, go to craigslist
and search for their ad there, then it will be the truth.

Mind, if you get this job, you'll definitely get interesting tasks,
but that's not the main reason to go there. The main reason to go
there, is so you can see how a company should be run. these guys
aren't just good programmers, they are amazing managers. For that
alone, it's worth going there just to see how a company should
interact. They are total professionals, and the greatest guys to work
with.
If you manage to get an interview, show them that you have a real
interest in how things work. That you think outside the box, and that
it's not just something you have to do, but something you really love.
Tell them about your use of Linux, show them you have a grasp of the
importance of using a system to make something work. They use a
variety of tools to manage a project. A lot of times they'll have
small tasks, programming or otherwise, where they need an intern.
They might just give you data entry work, but it will still be worth
it because of the reasons I mentioned. Eventually, when you start
learning how to program (assuming you haven't already, after all, you
ARE a Rubin!), they'll give you more critical tasks.
One of the things they gave applicants (when I was there) was a mental
puzzle. There's no right or wrong answer to it, it's more a test to
see how you approach a problem and break it down. Just be calm when
you do it, and show patience.
The main thing is if they see enthusiasm on your part; then they'll
probably hire you as an intern. They really want to teach people
things and be a benefit to the community. If they don't hire you,
it's probably because they're maxed out on interns. But when I was
there, they actually had a lack of them.
And yes, you are smart enough. But it's not about the smarts, with
these guys, it really IS about heart.
