Until someone wakes up and markets and engineers a desktop with business features that desirable and NOT compatable with windows because it is done in a better way for less, then this just continues to be a useless chase.
Look at this new Apple Laptop with the touch screen. Nothing stopped SuSE, IBM or Ubuntu from creating this first, and marketing it strongly.
And thats not all. The X11 interface is hobbled in most environments and development appications because of the work done making everything Windows Compatable. That includes OpenOffice, all the databases, Ximian, KDE
EVERYTHING. They are frankly just so damn stupid it is fustrating.
Novell and IBM can wrap server side services to desktop applicaitons in a truly secure and light way in ways MS could NEVER duplicate without ripping up their entire foundation and starting from scratch. What are they waiting for. They're years too late and a billion dollars short.

Why isn't Thea being pushed? Who is marking it? Better yet, why are we stuffing X11 functionality into the damn web browser?
