*** SPEAKER QUINN WEIGHS IN ON MADISON SQUARE GARDEN PLANS *** Executives of the Madison Square Garden arena announced their intentions to renovate their existing facility instead of building a new one nearby. Their decision places plans for Moynihan Station, a new, 21st century rail terminal that would be built where MSG now stands, in serious jeopardy. Speaker Quinn, in a statement released on Thursday evening, said the decision "undermines the hard work of countless community leaders, elected officials, and other members of the development community, who have dedicated themselves to expediting this process and making [Moynihan Station] a reality."
