Ah, I see.
I'd like to point out that the walkman was the first of that genre. That is one reason why it is so recognizable, despite many knockoffs and the eventual evolution into mp3 players like the ipod.
The eee pc is not the first of its kind. It does offer a great form factor at a terrific price point.
Keep in mind that it does not fill all needs, but for certain niches, it is perfect. I'm convinced I need a device like this. There is a Fujitsu (I think Lifebook 1610) that offers a similar size plus it converts to tablet form, but it runs windo$e and is significantly more expensive. So expensive that I don't need it that much.
The $400 price point is great. I know that these types of devices (eee pc and Cloudbook) will both go a long way toward making Linux more mainstream.
I think there will be many more beginner LUGs popping up all over soon.
