Under the law, HIPPA, every medical professional and Pharmacist is personally
responsible for the security of the systems and information they are
using for patient information storage and display and they're are expensive
civil and criminal penalties for each individual unauthroized disclosure
of private health information.
So clearly, whether they like it or not, it is in the scope of every
pharmacist.
