Subject: Possible NYLXS Lecture or Workshop
Hello Mr. Ruben,
My name is Joel Kemp, and I am emailing you on behalf of the City College of
New York Chapter of the ACM. My club's main goal is to promote computing
activities, and we do this through lectures, workshops, etc. With the
emerging presence of Linux and open-source software in today's market, we
feel that advocating these technologies is becoming a necessity. Too many
students are either nervous about utilizing free software, or uninformed of
the benefits of using such tools.
I feel that your NYLXS group is determined to promote the spread of free
software; to inform the public about Linux and its many uses. I was
wondering if there was any way of arranging for one of your instructors to
give a lecture, or workshop on Linux at the City College campus. Our club
would pay for any travel expenses, and lunch for the instructor. Please let
me know if this is possible.
