First, everything is a go for the Installfest on February 4th, 2007. We have about a dozen commitmments for volunteers, and we are going to have a few distro's available for the SuperBowl Installfest and Piaza party
this weekend!
Eman, Brian and I will make a few disks and we will be also looking at new distro choices as we also evaluate an OS for the new server build.
Anyone who has some CD's who wishes to pitch in, bring them in and email the
list.
Also, Mike will be looking at a Bus for the Freedom-IT Lake Placid trip later in this month.
Shani is making an announcement for the Installfest which she will post on the website.
In addition to these activities, Brian will be doing an intro to LISP and
the GIMP lecture in the coming month, and we are lining up so educational services from David Sugar for later this month as well.
Ron Abrams will be working on the new NYLXS web site and be doing an article
and possible presentation on his newest favorite Python based web tools.
Adam Kosmin and Bill Putney have comited some time for new projects I'm not quite ready to announce.
We also have a need for for recycled computers for a program involving
educating underprivledged kids in Brooklyn in the coming month. Anyone who wants to make a donation of working systems, PIII or better, please email me and we'll make the connections as well as move the machines.
More groomed announcements are on the way. Looking forward to seeing folks this Sunday for a good time and much Free Software education.
