I spoke to people in the Bronx about this this week and they certainly haven't.
There is no way the Pharmacy can or should process the cutting of tablets and
nurses aren't likely to do it either. They can't even keep track of their
$100 bottles of eye drops. This is just a false cost savings which ignors the
real issue of unfair costs of patented medication.
This conversation just convinces me further that every MD should spend 6 weeks
working in the Pharmacy before being allowed to be let lose on the world.
A pharmacist cost $1 per minute, minimum, not that I'm a piece worker anyway.
By all means though. If an MD wants to split and hand dispense 100's of tablets
into quarters every day, allow them to do it. I have other important work to do.
