Unique hands on opportunity to apply skills in SAMBA, Windows XP Pro single logon, OpenLDAP, and best of breed Open Source Linux integration in a multi-office NY Metro engagement.
Quick start opportunity for seasoned Samba, OpenLDAP and Windows XP Pro login integration expert.
Initial opportunity short-term, flexible hours. Can be arranged to start after 4PM if beneficial to all concerned. Some weekend work is possible for conversions.
Long term opportunity possible based on skills, commitment, success and team work demonstration.
Current deployment project involves migration from Novell 4.x file servers to LDAP and SAMBA. Existing RHEL ES 4 servers in place and network has been configured. OpenLDAP and Sendmail mail servers configured and roll-out to Outlook/Windows XP users and webmail clients in progress at all locations.
Company Description. Local mid-sized company with more than five office locations in Long Island, NYC, Westchester and NJ.
Start Date. June 19th or sooner
Job Description. Expert level SAMBA integration with OpenLDAP on local and remote servers using LDAP replication and SAMBA authentication and Windows Netlogon scripting.
Project Description. Provide configuration skills to enable Single Logon capability in Linux environment that uses OpenLdap and wishes to have transparent Samba file and print servers network-wide to any employee traveling to any location.
Long term involves secured PDA and external web user access to services.

Required Skills.
- Work with Project Leader/Integrator. - Familar with all configuration files for SAMBA, OpenLDAP, CUPS, RSYNC, SSH, etc. - SAMBA integraion with OpenLDAP. - SAMBA with Windows XP Pro clients - Wide-area network SAMBA file services. - Wide-area network SAMBA print services. - Windows NetLogon Scripts for WIndows XP - Familar or wants to be familar with RHEL ES 4 - Able to be on-site with project lead at one or more of the offices - Able to travel to Long Island, NY, Westchester and NJ if needed for training or assistance
Extra Skills.
- Familar with Outlook 2000/XP/2003 and use with IMAP mail server, LDAP Directory Services - Familiar with Outlook address book connection to LDAP Search Base a plus. - SUSE Linux and/or Novell file server migrations a plus
