TITLE: Database Administrator DEPARTMENT: Minority Information Services Unit OFFICE: Office of Senate Minority Leader David Paterson
Summary: Candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting contact and constituent databases and other technology infrastructure for the Minority Information Services Unit (MIS).
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): • Build complex custom queries and reports • Format diverse data sources to match a single standard • Maintain multiple large databases
Job Requirements/Qualifications: • Strong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to people with little technical experience • Strong MS-Access (or other RDBMS) experience • Experience programming in a scripting language preferred • Experience with web technologies (especially xhtml, css, php, MySQL, Drupal/CiviCRM) preferred • Political and/or issue organizing experience preferred

TITLE: Network Administrator DEPARTMENT: Minority Information Services Unit OFFICE: Office of Senate Minority Leader David Paterson
Summary: Candidate will be responsible for maintaining and support the local area network and other technology infrastructure for the Minority Information Services Unit (MIS).
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): • Maintain and support highly heterogeneous local area network of approximately 30 PCs and file server • Working with vendors, ensure a stable web, email and database infrastructure for MIS related projects • Develop and implement ongoing technology plan for MIS
Job Requirements/Qualifications: • Strong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to people with little technical experience • Experience supporting Windows XP/2000, standard office software and PC hardware • Experience supporting Windows 2000 Server and Active Directory • Experience with local area network and basic Internet technologies (TCP/IPs, consumer-grade routers & switches, Ethernet and 802.11b/g). • Strong MS-Access and/or RDBMS experience preferred • Experience with Blackberry/Treo platforms preferred • Familiarity with Mac OS X preferred • Experience with web technologies (especially xhtml, css, php, MySQL, Drupal/CiviCRM) preferred • Political and/or issue organizing experience preferred
