Your not correct about this. We've been involved with dozens of school projects and the problems that most fustrate such projects is not the commitment of volunteers, but the combination of the Central Department of Education and a lack of comitment of the school.
We had Concord running for years on multiple levels with Free Software, and ran into problems up and down the food chain.
In the end, volunteering only takes you so far. In fact, even paid workers can only go for so long because the Department of Education is not paying much more than the minilaist levels of wages for support.
And then you have the Dell contract.
To make false statements like, this will take X number of people so many days is irresponsible because frankly you can't guarantee that and your track record with such predictions is not admiriable.
This meeting tomorrow is about what is good for NYLUG, and the future of NYLUG. Please don't confuse that agenda with your own personal agenda.
Ruben
