I think a few more people will identify Linus Tovalds as the leader of the "Open Source" movement than will confuse North with South, but I could very well be wrong.

In my opinion, this is the same mistake my beloved friend Richard Stallman makes. Both think that they can correct the publics thinking on a key terminology by correcting individuals one person at a time.
The one thing Richard does extremely well though is it develop a message and to stick with it until it catches on with the press and the public.
In any event, in terms of Marketing,
I'd rather be as "Free as a Bird" that as "Open as a Prostitute" :)
And that is my last sentence on this topic for now.
