I'm sorry to hear about _your_ problem. Maybe you should be more careful
in your choice of distributions, window managers, and browser plugins /
extensions. (Flash? My idea of how to handle Flash on Firefox is to
first install the Flashblock extension so that I'm bothered neither by
Flash nor alternative animated-GIF advertisements, and then in some
cases, iff I might occasionally want to view selected animations at
_my_ option on that box, install Macromendia Flash Player on that box.)
OS X a bastion of stability? Make me laugh, Michael. OS X "Panther"
10.3.7[1] on my G3 iBook 2.2 can't even run Safari plus two Terminal.app
windows and a PDF viewer without occasionally falling over -- not to
mention the pathetic modal dialogue prompting reboot of the machine
just because some non-kernel security upgrades have gone in. (Yes, I
do defeat that dialogue via Terminal.app and the kill command, thanks.)
And that, sir, is why by preference I run Ubuntu Linux on it -- with, of
course, Window Maker.
[1] No, no funny, non-stock software on OS X's pathetically preferred
case-insensitive HFS+ filesystem: I basically use the iBook as just a
terminal to get to my _real_ computers, and for its Web browsers.
