GNU Bayonne 1.2 Released With this release we are delivering new functionality for using Bayonne as a community developed free software based IMS and Voice-to-Business application platform.
Cape May Court House, NJ, February 25, 2006 --(PR.COM)-- Tycho Softworks and GNU Telephony is pleased to announce the immediate availability of GNU Bayonne2 1.2. With this release, we are delivering new functionality for using Bayonne as a community developed free software based IMS application platform. Included in this release are new abilities to deliver audio from arbitrary url's and different media formats directly to telephone callers connected via the SIP protocol, as well as the ability to switch and route SIP voice calls. New application integration support has been added to better enable use of Bayonne as a middleware telephony platform and to deliver new B-to-B and B-to-C voice services by sitting between traditional enterprise applications like SAP, SQL Ledger, groupware servers, etc, and your enterprise telephone network.
"GNU Bayonne is our strategic middleware platform to enable voice automation of business processes, to add application logic to existing telephone infrastructure, and for delivering new kinds of application services both for enabling voice commerce and providing community projects such as telecenters", said David Sugar, GNU Bayonne maintainer and owner of Tycho Softworks. "This platform ultimately introduces Voice-to-Business. Speech automated ordering with 24x7 backup to web commerce. If the web is down, orders still flow. Many business models benefit from voice access versus Internet." offered Larry Glaser of I-comm.
GNU Bayonne is the telecommunications application server of the GNU project and offers a GNU GPL licensed scalable, media independent software environment for development and deployment of telephony solutions for use both with current, and next generation VOIP telephone networks using GNU/Linux, BSD systems, and Microsoft Windows. GNU Bayonne is in use today by over 1000 organizations worldwide. The latest release of GNU Bayonne 2 can be obtained in source code form directly from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/bayonne.
