Please let us know if you want Gnubies meetings to resume and continue. Do you have any preferences for future meeting times? (i.e. is the second Wednesday of the month still best for most people?. Above all, please let us know if you can help in any way. Thanks
Today there will be an installfest that should be of interest to Gnubies (sorry for the lateness of the announcement) - there will most likely be someone from Gnubies there helping out too. The following is the forwarded annoiuncement for the Installfest.

LXNY will throw a short sweet Install Fest on Saturday 24 September 2005 at The Downtown Office of Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions on the Island of the Manahattoes. See below for exact address, directions, and times.
Members of CFSG and of GNUbies will be present to give as much help as we all can.
This Install Fest is free and open to all.
Every member of every free software org, tribe, drinking club, and family, is invited, without prejudice, without fear, and without favor.
Newcomers are particularly invited. Come down and join us, even if you are just starting to learn about free software.
This Install Fest is made possible through the work and kind generosity of the organizers and all the volunteers. We especially thank Paul Kontonis of Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, and Dolly Nielsen of Silicon Alley Station for making this event possible. We thank Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions for the generous gift of venue.

All free software welcome! We do not discriminate among free kernels based upon the first letter of their names. We shall install both Linux kerneled and free *BSD kerneled systems, and we will make an attempt at any other free OS. Because this Fest is of short duration, and because the expertise of our scheduled helpers lies in Debian based GNU/Linux systems, we particularly invite those who want to install this kind of Home Free Unix to this Fest.
All experienced installers are invited to come and help. If your favorite Free OS is not a Debian let us know as soon as possible, and we will advertise the style of OS you offer to help with.
All students of economics, of the history of engineering, and of the art of propaganda are invited.
Date: Saturday 24 September 2005
Time: Starts at 11:00 am Runs to 4:00 pm Likely best to arrive before noon.
Location: Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions Manhattan Village 16 Cooper Square New York, NY 10003
Room number will be posted at door.
Subway: Eighth Street stop on the N, R, sometimes W, lines; Astor Place on the 6 line; Third Avenue on the crosstown L line; Lower EastSide-Second Avenue-Houston Street on the F, V lines Note that some of these lines may not be running right this weekend.
Hardware: Bring the boxes on which you wish to run a Free OS. Though it is safest to bring your monitor, keyboard, and mouse, you need not. We will have such available onsite. Internet connections via ethernet will be provided.
Software: Bring whatever distribution CDs, boot and rescue disks, boot managers, tiny distributions, manuals, and anything else you want. Again, you need not bring any of these things, since they will be available onsite. Extra copies of Knoppix are always welcome.
Important: Everything done to/with any computer at any Install Fest, and in particular, at this Install Fest, is done at the specific request of the owner of the computer. As with all human endeavor, there is some risk of catastrophe. Back up all your data, before coming to the Fest! In addition, make a list of all hardware and media you bring to the Fest, and check that you have all your hardware and media when you leave the Fest.
