Am I to understand that the new front end will be built in Java? i would caution against that. That tactic put openoffice.org into a hole, even until now, Java is not a Free Software API. It can be yanked out from under you at any time by Sun. In fact, Sun has monkeyed before with it's API.
Is there a mailing list?

It has been ported to run on GT.M on GNU/Linux -- an entirely free and open platform. We are only a few years old, and at this point, most of the effort has been voluntary. We just (last week) received a large government contract to provide training for VistA Office EHR see: www.linuxmednews.com/1116853791/index_html. Our main communication channel is a list on sourceforge.net: http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hardhats-members. > > Of course, we can always use more volunteers. Your expertise at admin with GNU systems would be useful as we have a couple of GNU/Linux systems that seem to be under-manned. If you are experienced with web development, that would be another area where we are short-handed. As far as paying positions -- we have no employees, but there may be consulting/contracting opportunities in conjunction with this new contract or with future grant or contracts which we are trying to get. > > -maury- > > Maury Pepper > Chairman, WorldVistA > Email: mpepper-at-worldvista.org > Tel: 314-968-1293 > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Richard Stallman" > To: "Maury Pepper" > Cc: > Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2005 5:27 AM > Subject: In case you could use someone > > > > My friend Ruben Safir , the GNU/Linux consultant > > who is also a pharmacist, told me that he formerly worked for the VA. > > He also said this: > > > > I program in Perl, C, some C++, TK, TCL, Bash, Python, GTK.
