SUBJECT | Subject: [NYLXS - HANGOUT] the internet has become useless
|
things have reached a tipping point and the DMCA, DRM junk has pretty much destroyed the net.
I was looking today for some African Jungle sounds for my Parrot to listen to. You can't find anything any more. Just a few years ago, this would have been an easy junt into some educational archive. The addition of hollywood witch hunting has left nothing but $29.95 block buster DVD sound effects on the web.
I can't find information on nearly anything any more.
It's just a disaster. I know every university under the sun has sound tracts like this from the 1940's on, sitting in their archives. You can't even find recordings of crickets in your garage any more...
It's such a waste.
