I had my first ego encounter with a psuedo faculty member today. I am installing Suse 9.1 on a row of machines, a faculty member came to the lab when I wasnt around. He felt that '/sbin' and '/usr/sbin' should allow regular user access. I was told he had 'few kind words' to say about me for not 'allowing' traceroute and ifconfig permissions for regular users.
