Not trying to incite one's wrath but Steve, can you verify that the burned CD can be read in other CDROM Drives? The reason I ask is that not all CDRW Drives write very well. Some are pure $HiT..
Just a thought but like you said, The quality of the driver may be in question...

Not trying to incite or condemn anyone but I to just quickly relay my experience.
I'm having trouble with my CD player. When I want to insert something thats simply burned onto my CD it doesnt work. I have a copy of OSX and when I put that in the player the CD gets read, no problem. I have little doubt the drivers for the CD, atleast for PPC, are poorly engineered.
