It is equally likely that the cd media is the issue. When I first bought a 24x12x8 cue drive 4x compusa rw media worked fine and 8x imation rw's did not. I have used the drive to burn at least a dozen distros and dupes on 16,24 & 32x "r" maxell and other media and had no issues with bootable, iso disks. I also had no issues using the same media to make bootaboe iso's on a tibook with and 8x burner. Now that I can only find 52x media, maxell as well, I can burn disks than can be read but will not boot on a 44x cdrom drive in the same machine below the burner or two older gateways with cdrom only. When I put the disks into a new kyphermedia 52x burner on a third gateway machine, even when burned on the 24x drive they boot fine. There are a lot of variables with cd burning. Did you buy any chance just buy a pack of new and faster media or a different brand?
