Position Description: A major, global electronic and print publisher has developed a detailed methodology for mapping key issues and trends in the industry.
One individual is needed to 1) search out information in the media and from web sources, 2) synthesize findings on these issues, 3) score pieces of information against a detailed methodology, and 4) input key information into a issues map
Skills Required: * Rigorous logic * Critical thinking skills * Sensitivity to nuances of the written word * Excellent web research capabilities * Motivation and resourcefulness * Attention to detail * Accurate data entry skills
Candidates: Individuals in career transition and highly motivated students are encouraged to apply. Exposure to journalism, law, business analysis, social sciences and the liberal arts may be helpful, but not required. U.S Citizenship Required.
Duration/Hours: Depending on the candidate, we may jointly decide to structure the position to be full time for 4-6 weeks or part-time for a longer period.
Work Environment: The position will be on-site in our newly-renovated offices with a friendly and helpful team. We are conveniently located in the neighborhood of 28th Street & Park Avenue, accessible by the 4, 5, and 6 subway lines.

This is a four-month position. Expected start date: May 17th, 2004 Expected finish date - on or before September 29th, 2004
Ideal candidate: The person who holds this position should be a strong writer and editor who is familiar with HTML, Photoshop and other programs necessary to create engaging web content within a template-driven system. This person must be able to take direction and to blend comfortably in a high energy service driven department. Computer graphic design skills are desired (ie. creating images for e-cards). Familiarity with Judaism and organized Jewish community is a plus.
