4-pin FireWire is significant because the other 2 wires are for power
IIRC, and Sony usually leaves those out for its "i.Link" crap.
I'm really surprised they kept the parallel port.

I suppose that is the interesting part.

Yeah, and they keep harassing you to backup the recovery partition onto
a disk set of 10 CDRs (not included). After you make the CDRs, you can
blow away the partition, but now you've got a 5G limb sticking out.
(Unless you immediately repartition the drive and use the Recovery
Disks). Grr.. Anyway, the utility to create the CDRs is *total* crap.
If you make it to disc 6 and get a write error (of any kind), you have
to start over, and burn another complete set from the beginning. You
can't write one disc at a time, it's a real "Start -> Next -> Next ->
Next .... -> Finish" sort of app..
