Hello !!
I have an open position for a "Web Developer" at Midtown Manhattan, NYC . Please review the job requirements and let me know if you're interested. It is a Full Time Position.
Here is the requirement:
Job Title: "Web Developer"
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NYC
Job Type: Full Time
Job Description
web developers (3 openings - 1 analyst level, 2 associate level) this is developing a very sophisticated intranet suite of applications/tools that is used extensively by both internal and external clients of this top tier money management firm. it was developed exclusively in perl5 (object-oriented Perl) for a unix based environment with sybase database. ideal candidates will know Perl/sql/javascript programming, have expereince with web based development (preferably having worked on all aspects of a full life cycle project in a corporate environment). analyst is 1-2 years experience, associate is 2-5 yrs. there is a lot of flexibility in these specs. they would prefer a bright motivated person with different but analogous skills than a mediocre person that just happens to have worked with the same technology. must have good fundamental technical skills, will probably have a CS degree or related discipline (good school is appreciated if not compulsory) - not a hacker type. oddly, dot.com people tend to have more complete web development experience than the financial company web developers who very often only work on one part of a web project. with that said they are not totally put off by the unstable job histories of the typical dot commers. good presentation and communication skills are an absolute must. reliable, disciplined and at least somewhat corporate appearance is also mandatory though there is a business casual dress code. it also really helps if they know something about the financial world - particularly for the associate level spots - and they should certainly have an interest if not a burning desire to learn about finance.
If you are interested then as a preliminary step, I was hoping that you may be able to answer a few brief questions for me
* What is your current work situation? (Working or between projects?)
* If you are still working, when would you be available to begin a new position?
* What is your Status in U S (US citizen/Green Card/ H1B)?
* What would be your HOURLY rate on w2 or 1099 (For Contract)
* What is the salary you are looking for ? (Full Time)
* How Many years of Exp do u have as "Web Developer"
* How many years of Experience do you have with the Following Skills
* Perl
* SQL
* JavaScripting
* Unix
* Sybase
* How many years of experience do you have with Financial Industry ?
* When would be a convenient time for me to contact you to discuss this opportunity further?
Thanks & Regards,
Ali
