SUBJECT | Subject: [hangout] PowerBook CDROM is very flakey
|
I need help on this, I have already emailed YellowDog and one of their engineers have responded with some questions. I have replied but have not recieved a response yet.
The CDROM on my laptop is acting up, it is really frustrating the living crap out of me.
What happens is I will insert a CDROM, one that works on any computer and any OS, into the PowerBook. The CD will thrash about this way and that a few times and if something inside decides it wants to run the CDROM will get read. Otherwise the CDROM will either stop spinning the CD or spit the CD out. Twice I had a kernel panic that gave me all sorts of interesting output to the screen. Another time the machine simply shut off.
The CDROM works fine under OSX
Anyone?
