senior software developer/consultant. This is a full-time position located
in NEW YORK CITY and preference will be given to candidates that already
lives in or near NYC.

Please highlight the following required experience and skills in your cover

Required skills:
1. Strong knowledge of, and recent development experience with, Perl, Unix
(Solaris), and Sybase, and (specifically, experience writing daemons in
Perl is highly desired).
2. 3 or more years of experience in developing business applications using
Unix, Perl, Sybase, Java, and other relational database systems. A
Bachelors in a technical discipline from a four-year university or college.
3. Strong knowledge of and recent development experience in using SQL -
ability to create complex stored procedures and views with Sybase.
4. Strong knowledge of financial industry business practices and recent
work on application development for financial industry firms.
5. Strong communications & leadership skillincluding the a track record of
responsibility for managing projects and client relationships, leading
design sessions, and conducting status meetings.
Desired skills:
1. Ability to work on or lead projects in a team environment
2. Masters of Science in a technical discipline, preferably computer
science
3. Experience with HTML, and Jscript/Javascript
4. Knowledge of finance and financial instruments.
5. Knowledge/experience in interface design, web application architecture
and database design
6. Knowledge/experience in developing applications with Microsoft
technologies (.NET / SQL Server / COM etc)
7. Experience with VBA / VBScript to develop applications in Microsoft
Excel
8. Skills in managing all aspects of software/internet application
development - from specification to code completion, testing and rollout
9. Expereince in entrepreneurial, growing firms.
10. Certifications a plus
