The Linux World Expo in New York is rapidly approaching, and of course EmperorLinux will be there with a wide range of portable Linux systems for you to play with. We'll have six (6) different Linux systems, ranging from 2 pounds to 8 pounds, and everything in-between.
For those of you with connectivity on your mind, we'll have three different Linux laptops with internal 54Mbps 802.11"g" wireless, (and PCMCIA 802.11"b/g" cards for the rest). You can see us run the latest Atheros-based and prism54-based chips in "b", "g" and mixed "b/g" mode. You can also play with our three systems with internal 10/100/1000 Gigabit ethernet. No rsync job too big!
Another big item for laptop users is hibernation!. All of our systems now support either APM hibernation or the newer Linux-kernel "swsusp" code based hibernate. In either case you get full ability to hibernate your running Linux laptop, and then resume back into exactly the state you quit at. All of our show systems will demonstrate hibernation. You can successfully hibernate and resume while pinging another system, compiling the kernel, or playing mp3 audio.
We hope to see you there. You can get into the show floor for free by registering at www.LinuxWorldExpo.com (using Priority Code PCFN) by January 20. Here is a list of this years systems:
Meteor (Sharp MM10): http://www.EmperorLinux.com/meteor.html Raven (IBM X31):http://www.EmperorLinux.com/raven.html Blackperl (Sony V505):http://www.EmperorLinux.com/blackperl.html Toucan (IBM T40):http://www.EmperorLinux.com/toucan.html Rhino (Dell D800):http://www.EmperorLinux.com/rhino.html Gazelle (Sony GRT):http://www.EmperorLinux.com/gazelle.html
If you can't make it, Please take a look at our site, and tell your friends about EmperorLinux.
